TAFE Directors Australia is engaged in two scholarship programs to support its members.
The TAFE Directors Australia National Scholarships Foundation was established to advance education by assisting current and prospective TAFE students with valuable TAFE National Scholarships. Two types of scholarships are available – equity and merit. Equity scholarships, known as Mick Young Scholarships, assist students who demonstrate motivation to complete their studies but need financial support to do so. Merit scholarships, known as TAFE National Achievement Scholarships, are awarded to students who show exceptional potential in their chosen field.
“The National Scholarships Foundation will be the vehicle for a new, broad-based approach as a national charity to assist students – and reward achievements – of those undertaking skills training around Australia. . . . What we are celebrating tonight is a real maturing in the growth of educational philanthropy. We are proud that our TAFE Directors Australia has taken on this initiative, at this time, leveraging not merely our great public provider network but outreaching to the skills community, industry partners, and the wider business and local communities.”
