If you would like to attend please email fiona.maxwell@tda.edu.au Australian Pacific Technical CollegeOn 26 October 2005 the Prime Minister announced the development in principle of an Australian Technical Vocational and Trades College for the Pacific with a network of campuses. The college will deliver Australian standard qualification and enable mobility of skilled and semi-skilled workers. AusAid has led an inter-departmental Committee, and Minister Downer has issued a statement on the project. For details of the progress to date please see http://www.ausaid.gov.au/ Project to assist implementation of National Code of Standards for Overseas ProvidersTDA has been successful with a four-state survey to develop and trial the ESOS Act. Congratulations to Peter Robinson (TDA) on this success with the survey tender to DEST Canberra. The project will examine modifications required to policies and procedures at the institute level to meet the new standards. A major focus will be to provide guidelines which ensure the minimum additional compliance burden above existing Australian Quality Training Framework.
