New VET Research Report

A well-skilled future: Tailoring vocational education and training to the emerging labour market' has been undertaken by a consortium of researchers from the National Institute of Labour Studies at Flinders University and the Centre for Post-compulsory Education and Lifelong Learning at the University of Melbourne. The 13 survey reports overview changing work skill needs and work organisation arrangements, and their implications for the vocational education and training sector. The annual Australian Innovation Festival

The annual Australian Innovation Festival (www.ausinnovation.org) will be celebrating its 6th year in 2007. The Festival this year included 520 events, 400,000 participants, 15 associated innovation festivals and many other activities throughout metropolitan and regional Australia. The national program is coordinated with Australian governments (Federal, State and Territory), Australian universities, media groups, leading corporate organisations and over 100 national industry & educational associations. More than half of these events are in country and regional Australia.

Overseas Student Health Cover - Best Practice and Practical Solutions

On 31 August 2006, the Department of Health and Ageing, (DoHA), the Department of Immigration and Multicultural Affairs, (DIMA), the Department of Education, Science and Training (DEST) and the Australian Vice–Chancellors’ Committee, co-hosted a forum on Overseas Student Health Cover (OSHC). Tender Opportunity

The Australian Government Department of Agriculture, Fisheries and Forestry (the Department) is seeking tenders for the provision of services to design and deliver a new leadership skills development course for young people working in the agriculture, fisheries and forestry industries (aged 18-35).

By supporting the development of young people, the Australian Government ultimately aims to improve the ability of industries to rise to the challenges and opportunities that they will face in the coming years. The preferred tenderer will work with the Department to:

• design and develop an interactive and creative course programme;
• engage high-quality presenters;
• facilitate participants' learning; - coordinate, deliver and manage session logistics;
• provide event management services; and
• evaluate the course.
