PROFESSOR DENISE BRADLEY APPOINTED HEAD OF HIGHER EDUCATION REVIEW - TO SPEAK AT YOUTH FORUM
Two members of the review panel selected by the Deputy Prime Minister the Hon. Julia Gillard MP, for the Higher Education Review will be major participants to the National Forum on Youth Engagement, initiated by TDA and the Australian College of Educators next month.
Emeritus Professor Denise Bradley, President of the Australian College of Educators (ACE), will welcome participants to the
Future Directions in Vocational Skills for Youth National Forum &
Workshop, and Peter Noonan, a VET consulting expert, will be a guest speaker.
The National Forum will be staged at the Hotel Grand Chancellor in Hobart, Wednesday 16 April 2008.
Professor Bradley, the former vice-chancellor of the University of South Australia, will lead the four-person expert panel in the review, with Peter Noonan also a panel member.
The National Forum will focus on measures to improve the participation of young people in vocational skills development, and include workshops on key solutions. Visit the TDA web site at

NCVER NATIONAL VET RESEARCH CONFERENCE - 'No Frills'
The National Centre for Vocational Education (NCVER) has released details of its upcoming
'No Frills' 17th National VET Research Conference, to be held 9-11 July in Launceston, Tasmania. The conference is jointly sponsored by NCVER and TAFE Tasmania.
NCVER has called for papers for the conference and proposals to run workshop sessions, due 21 April.

NATIONAL CAREER DEVELOPMENT WEEK
National Career Development Week will run from 2 - 8 June and is themed 'Get the life you love'. The Week aims to promote awareness of career development and to encourage all Australians to develop the skills to manage their careers, learning, work and lives.
NCDW is an initiative of the Career Industry Council of Australia (CICA) and is funded by DEEWR. Across Australia, over 400 NCDW events will lead up to the week of national celebrations.
TAFE Institutes are invited to use the NCDW career development messages and tools to organise careers events that promote TAFE opportunities in the community.

website. Organisers will receive a kit including the NCDW event logo and a disc which contains video hints & tips, event ideas, fact sheets and templates, designed to assist event organisers plan their events.
