TENDER NOTICE - OVERSEAS SKILLS ASSESMENT SERVICES (DEWR RFT 2007/08)

The Department of Employment and Workplace Relations is inviting tenders by 2pm Tuesday 20 March to provide skills assessment services for potential migrants from one or more of the following countries; India, The United Kingdom, South Africa, Sri Lanka and the Philippines. The possible skills areas include general electricians, carpenters and joiners, bricklayers, and general plumbers.

2007 TAFE “BLOGGER”AUSTRALIAN SKILLING LECTURE SERIES

On 19th February Dr. Michael Keating presented the inaugural lecture in our 2007 TAFE ‘Blogger” Australian Skills Lecture Series, at TAFE Directors Australia National Office, in Canberra. He was speaking about the recently released iPART Report, “Up-skilling NSW - How vocational education and training can help overcome skill shortages, improve labour market outcomes and raise economic growth” (Dec, 2006)

AQTF 2007 INFORMATION SESSIONS

The Essential Standards for Registration within AQTF 2007 will apply to all organisations seeking to be registered training organisations. The three components of the Essential Standards for Registration comprise:

  • conditions of registration
  • standards
  • outcomes measures

DEST and State accrediting bodies are currently providing information sessions about the new essential standards for RTOs across the country. Remaining sessions include:
