JAPAN VET STUDY TOUR – Q4, 2007

Australian Education International Japan invites expressions of interest from Australian TAFE Institutes to participate in a VET Study Tour to Japan in 2007.

The VET study tour aims to introduce TAFE Directors and their private counterparts to the Japanese education system and the opportunities that exist in Japan. It would also be a chance to expose parts of the Japanese system/professions to the Australian education model with the view to strengthening partnership arrangements between institutions in the two countries.

AEI Guangzhou VET China Conference - REMINDER

Australian Education International (AEI) Guangzhou is working with the Guangdong Provincial Department of Education (GDDE) to organise an Australian Vocational Education and Training Symposium on 19 June 2007.

The symposium will coincide with the third Sino-Australian Vocational Education and Training Forum in Chongqing City 21 to 23 June 2007.

AEI has kindly sponsored this Guangzhou meeting to allow a wider group of TAFE executives to attend and meet China Institute executives in this exciting industrial east-coast province.

SYPOSIUM / WORKSHOP ON ENGLISH LANGUAGE PROFICIENCY

A national education two-day symposium/workshop is to be conducted by Australian Education International and International Education Association of Australia on English Language Proficiency. AEI is yet to finalise dates and the venue, but are expected to be 14-15 August at the Sheraton on the Park, Sydney. Stay tuned for more updates on this event.

CANBERRA UPDATES

The Prime Minister the Hon John Howard MP addressed the Centre for Independent Studies – The Policymakers Series, at the CBA Communications Centre in Sydney. The PM’s ‘Australia Rising’ speech focused on education and skills.
