TAFE RESPONSE TO COAG INITIATIVES

Australia’s TAFE sector has welcomed initiatives on literacy and numeracy from Friday’s meeting of COAG in Canberra.

TDA highlighted literacy and numeracy as one of 12 essential steps toward improved human capital and workforce participation in its recent White Paper to COAG.

However, TAFE warned COAG that any attempt to again experiment with ‘voucher’ systems might seriously jeopardize engagement in further literacy and numeracy courses.
