MINISTER ROBB, STATES & TERRITORIES RECEIVE TAFE ‘WHITE PAPER’
LAUNCH OF ‘INVESTING IN PRODUCTIVITY’ AT PARLIAMENT HOUSE
The Hon. Andrew Robb MP, Minister for Vocational and Further Education, welcomed the launch last week of the TAFE Directors Australia White Paper to COAG 2007. The Prime Minister, Premiers and Chief Ministers meet in Canberra next Friday 13 th April for COAG.
‘Investing in Productivity’ captured national headlines, with Minister Robb flagging his interest in several of the 12 Recommendations, including the Australian Trade Diploma to widen qualification pathways, TAFE governance and higher level skilling initiatives.

NATIONAL LITERACY AND NUMERACY WEEK 2007
TAFE Institutes are reminded of opportunities to nominate a member from your Institute for a 2007 National Literacy and Numeracy Week (NLNW) Minister's Award. Nominating a staff member is an excellent way to recognise their work in the literacy and/or numeracy.
NLNW 2007 runs from 3 to 9 September with national and local events happening during this week. As part of NLNW celebrations, the Minister for Education, Science and Training will present up to five awards of $10,000 each to individuals in recognition of their outstanding contribution to improving literacy and/or numeracy education.
