TDA AND INDUSTRY SKILLS COUNCILS ANNOUNCE SHARED PRIORITIES

Australia's 10 Industry Skills Councils (ISCs) and TAFE Directors Australia have established a shared position on key issues for Skilling Australia, in a joint statement released in December. 

The 'shared priorities' follow a leadership meeting between TDA Directors and ISC CEOs in Hobart, and seek to guide Skilling Australia policy for the incoming government, and state and territory legislators. They include: 

• The establishment of a public funding model to enable real workforce development;
• Building practitioner skills and professional development; and
• Bringing training system synergies, identifying red tape, and removing Federal and State "inconsistencies".
