AusAID's $20 million aid project delivering "C-TAFE" in China's largest manufacturing city, Chongqing, has been commended as a key model for China's vocational education system.
AusAID announced the 5-year project will conclude in August this year.
Mr. Huang Yao, Director-General of China's Department of VET and Adult Education, commended the project when addressing the 3rd Sino-Australian VET Forum in Chongqing.
He said China will proceed with the strategic VET project, and compile an audit to create a detailed Action Plan on VET ahead of a Ministry of Education strategic review on China's VET system in coming months.
Wayne Collyer, deputy chair of TDA, made the official address for Australia's public sector TAFE system, and Team Leader Antoine Barnaart delivered a review on the project. The review can be downloaded from www.acvetp.com
Martin Riordan, CEO of TDA, earlier addressed an investment symposium on Guangdong Province, sponsored by AEI (DEST) and the Provincial Department of Education, Guangdong, China.
