NATIONAL BOARD MEETING - BRISBANE 29 NOV 2007
The National Board of TAFE Directors Australia meets on Thursday 29 November in Brisbane, hosted by Queensland director Steve Ghost, CEO at SkillsTech Australia at Acacia Ridge.
The 'Skillaroos' Australian WorldSkills Team has arrived back from the WorldSkills Competition in Japan with outstanding results.
The Skillaroos achieved one gold medal, two silver medals, one bronze medal and 16 Medallions of Excellence, placing Australia fifth in the world among 50 countries. Dale McMullen from Challenger TAFE, Fremantle - a gold medallist in the Automobile Technology category - was awarded the Best of the Nation Award.
TAFE was well represented in the team and TAFE Directors Australia congratulates the whole team on a brilliant effort.

Resources are now available from the recently held Reframing the Future: Continuous Improvement of VET Forums.
The forums were an opportunity for registered training organisations to come together to discuss future directions for the continual improvement in VET.

TDA is supporting a National Review of Career Development Services in Australian Tertiary Institutions being implemented by PhillipsKPA on behalf of the Career Development Section, Department of Education, Science and Training.
TDA encourages institutes to participate in an online survey to support the review. The survey will close Monday 3 December 2007 and should preferably be completed by one person with specific responsibility for career development activities in your organisation.
