Mick’s Big Night Out -
Friday 1st March

Provide feedback on draft Unique Student Identifier legislation

Draft Unique Student Identifier (USI) legislation has been posted on the Department of Industry, Innovation, Science, Research and Tertiary Education (DIISRTE) website.

The USI public consultation page provides the draft legislation package, an overview paper, a video walk-through of the package and instructions on how to lodge a submission.

Members are alerted to the change in the Australian Quality Training Framework (AQTF) standard that requires, not only students commencing studies after 1 January 2014 to have a USI, but also re-enrolling students being conferred a qualification or statement of attainment after that date.  USI’s will be available from 1 October 2013. A new name for the USI is also being canvassed.

Feedback should be submitted by February 15 to TDA Director Policy and Stakeholder Management, Pam Caven, at pcaven@tda.edu.au.
