TDA has signed an agreement with the USA’s Community College specialist affiliate international agency, the Community Colleges for International Development (CCID) to enhance student and teacher mobility between the two countries.

Martin Riordan (TDA), currently visiting the United States on a Fulbright Scholarship, signed the MoU with John Halder, President of the CCID, at the Office of the American Association of Community Colleges in Washington DC.

The initial focus of the agreement will be to trial student mobility across selected courses in the technology, health services, and tourism and hospitality sectors. TAFE Institutes will be encouraged to include a USA study component for their students and teachers with the CCID acting as facilitator.

The agreement also sets out a wide range of exchanges and cooperative ventures between the two organisations including cultural exchanges, short term training programs of mutual benefit, study abroad activities, joint proposal developments and exchange of faculty, staff, administrators and consultants.
