Federal Budget 2009
Australia's TAFE Institutes have been given a clear message that sustainability in skills and training will be a key theme for the next round of funding under the Education Investment Fund.
TDA member Institutes which are Higher Education providers will also gain from Budget 2009, with a widening of the Structural Adjustment Fund.
More challenging will be new tightening of Skilled Migration, offset with a new tender for RTOs to provide testing services for a new Job Ready Test.

Key education and training measures include:
- Expansion of the Education Investment Fund by some $2 billion
- Structural Adjustment Fund for new student places
- More apprenticeship and training places
- Extra sustainability funding
- More generous Tools for your trade payments
- Extended support for mid-career apprentices
