Vocational Education Leadership Training (VELT) Program

The second joint TDA and China Education Association for International Exchange (CEAIE) ‘Vocational Education Leadership Training (VELT)’ program reached a successful conclusion in Sydney, week ending 8th October, with 25 vocational college principals and senior administrators delivering reports on their experiences and future plans.

Representatives from the Sydney Consulate of the People’s Republic of China, participating TAFE Institutes and local Chinese media heard from the delegation leader Mr Zhang Yajun, President of the Liaoning Provincial College of Communications, as he emphasised the importance of mutual understanding and shared goals in developing formal cooperation between institutes from both countries.

The four-week program included attendance at the TDA National Conference and workshops at William Angliss Institute in Melbourne. The group then divided into five teams for two week placements at Holmesglen Institute, Box Hill Institute, TAFE NSW Illawarra Institute, Challenger Institute of Technology and Gold Coast Institute of TAFE.
