What we do
TAFE Directors Australia provides its members with a forum to:
- Undertake or commission research or information collection.
- Develop International cooperation and to assist in the
development of relationships with a variety of countries on vocational
education and training matters.
- Promote the representation of TAFE Directors on committees
and the like which are set up to undertake work of significance
affecting vocational education and training nationally or
internationally.
- Facilitate the development of TAFE staff through a variety of means including staff exchange programs.
- Promote the welfare of students, staff and graduates of TAFE Institutes.
- Facilitate opportunities for members to develop their knowledge and skills.
The association also assists institutions by:
- Providing a public voice for the TAFE industry
- Representing the TAFE industry at exhibitions/promotions
- Distributing TDA newsletters
- Holding an annual conference
- Coordinating overseas delegations and visits.
TAFE Directors Australia also acts as a central coordination point for:
- Distribution and dissemination of information, including media releases [LINK: ‘Media releases’]
- Overseas collaboration projects
- Gathering views on current issues
- Liaising with national agencies such as ANTA, DEST, AEI etc.
