Joint Australia-China Mentoring Project

A bilateral TAFE Australia-CHINA VET mentoring programme was launched in 2005.

The "Australia China Senior VET Administrators Mentoring 2005 Project" was jointly operated between TDA and China's dedicated agency on educational exchange, the CEAIE (China Education Association for International Exchange). The project involved a Mentor/Shadow project for Senior VET Administrators.

The bilateral country project began during the first half of September with six senior Chinese VET administrators travelling to designated Australian Institutes. Their visits were preceded by an Orientation Day in Canberra and concluded with a Round Table in Sydney. A one-week return visit to China by the Australian Mentors took place in mid-October.

The programme included open-learning and sharing of information on respective systems, with detailed analysis of systems and procedures by Australian TAFE Institutes and Chinese VTE officials.

The project was carried out under the 2005-2008 TDA-CEAIE MoU on cooperation.
